ON•TAP mesmerises architects

ON•TAP stores in Cape Town joined The Cape Institute of Architecture for their year-end function on 9 December 2010.

The Cape Institute of Architecture is situated in Hout Street, Cape Town, where they also hosted this well-attended function, with over 350 architects, quantity surveyors and landscape architects arriving to paint the town red. The Institute even managed to close off the entire street, complete with a ten piece Marimba band for entertainment!

ON•TAP was well-represented with staff doing their rounds and networking with industry professionals; a massive flat screen playing ON•TAP television commercials; a Beer ON•TAP bar; as well as other captivating branded display items.

ON•TAP's designer bathroom display soon became the centre of attention, with products sponsored by coveted international greats: Duravit, Hansgrohe and Victoria+Albert. Dan from ON•TAP Somerset West, along with a team from Hansgrohe and other professional helping hands, assembled the bathroom display showcasing the Hansgrohe PURAVIDA concept - including a working shower! Finishing touches to the display were contributed by Tiles ON•TAP Paardeneiland, while Jeeves added a convenient functionality with their heated towel rail.

The best part is,
this wonderful real life bathroom display worth R100 000 was up for grabs through supporting the Green Communities Food Security Christmas Raffle. ON•TAP is proudly involved with Green Communities, a non-profit organisation that (among other social upliftment initiatives) inspires people in underprivileged communities to grow their own vegetables through implementing simple and effective Veggie Tunnels.

New Jeeves Xtract Range now available at ON•TAP!

The new Jeeves Xtract range of heated towel rails is now available at ON•TAP stores nationwide. The Jeeves Xtract range is available in three size options: Xtract SIX, Xtract NINE and Xtract TWELVE.

Handcrafted in South Africa from 304 stainless steel, the world renowned Jeeves heated towel rails are available as independent electrically operated units (AHT), or as hydronic units (electricity FREE) where they are heated by circulating hot water systems.

Electric models feature Automatic Heating Technology (AHT), an intelligent system which automatically regulates optimum operating temperatures and reduces electricity consumption – negating the need for any external switches or controls.

Hydronic models do away with electrical heating elements as they are designed to operate as part of a closed-loop, pumped hot water heating system. A solar or gas powered hot water system allows for electricity free heated towel rails and thus, zero running costs!

ON•TAP Shredders surf up a storm

ON•TAP is sponsoring a local surfing team, the Shredders, to partake in an exciting team orientated surf contest.

Garth Roelofse, ON•TAP Shredders

Neil Marwick's new format surf contest allows results in a four hour period, where four teams compete against each other in different divisions. Teams should have good surfers - as one per team will not benefit the overall score. Most surfers competing have participated in SA Champs, so the competition will be tough but exciting. The contest is well organised, as the director and team captains will study swell and wind charts before the big day in order to select the best venue for four hours, with the best possible waves. The results will go into a log points system for future events.

Soccer fever is officially in the air and ON•TAP Pietermaritzburg has been diagnosed with the complete symptoms, hence the staff showing signs of patriotic support on Soccer Friday! Please note that the hands-in-air gesture (apparently a wave originated in Mexico) is in fact contagious and may occur whenever Bafana Bafana is mentioned.

Heat up your towels with your very own Bathroom Butler!

The new Bathroom Butler Swerve Heated Towel Rail is exclusively available at ON•TAP stores nationwide. The unique swerve design comprises of six polished, stainless steel bars that are intended to keep your towels warm and fluffy. The benefit of using a heated towel rail lies in the fact that wet towels are both aired and dried, so you don't have to tumble-dry. Your towels will last a bit longer - effectively, you'll save on electricity and buying new towels all at the same time.

The Bathroom Butler Swerve Heated Towel Rail uses Dry Element Technology (DET), which is a heating element used in modern heated towel rails for it's efficient heat distribution and eco-friendly characteristics. The element can heat the entire rail within 10 to 15 minutes, thus using less electricity than most liquid-filled heated towel rails.

Bathroom Butler Swerve is designed to regulate its surface temperature by distributing heat on the path of the wire directly where required. This nifty temperature control differentiates between a covered and uncovered rail, and regulates the temperature according to the dryness of the towel. The temperature of covered bars will increase when towels are draped over it and decrease when towels are not draped over it. Simple. The special purpose heating wire is designed to use the towels as insulation for the bars that effectively traps the heat, and only the covered section is heated. Clever thinking from Bathroom Butler!

Bathroom Butler
has been in the tubular product manufacturing business for over thirty years, and this experience coupled with state of the art manufacturing technology, such as DET, equips Bathroom Butler to manufacture the finest quality heated towel rails.
